Chöd: Transforming Fear Through Compassion (Online)
April 1 @ 2:00 pm – April 5 @ 11:00 am

Chöd (meaning ‘to cut through’) is a thousand-year-old Tibetan Buddhist practice for meeting and engaging fears and fixations through the practice of compassion and generosity. The practice, sung in beautiful melodies and accompanied by a drum and bell, has its roots in shamanic traditions and was traditionally often performed as a healing practice. Visualizing an offering of our own body to that which would seemingly destroy us, we practice releasing our grasp on the egoic self and opening to our inherent freedom, compassion, and wisdom. In this retreat, you will learn a Chöd practice revealed by the deeply revered Chögyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche, and explore the teachings that underlie this powerful tradition.
Although this online Chöd retreat is open to all, it is a follow-up to a wonderful in-person Feeding Your Demons retreat that we (Charlotte and Pieter) gave in San Luis Potosi in 2025, and we are delighted to continue to work with our warm-hearted friends from Mexico – and now to extend that warm invitation to people from all over our planet.
The teachings will be offered in English, with instant zoom translation into Spanish and 34 other languages.
A traditional Chöd drum and bell is strongly recommended – please inquire for details as to where to buy these).
