About Us

Pieter Oosthuizen is a teacher, consultant, and entrepreneur and a long-time student of Tibetan Buddhism. He has been teaching various practices and retreats in Lama Tsultrim’s lineage in the US and abroad since 2006. He is the President of the Board of Tara Mandala Buddhist Retreat Center, and an adjunct faculty in the Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology Program at Naropa University.

Pieter is also the founder and CEO of CELSUS Bio-Intelligence, a skincare company. In the past, he brought innovative leadership to institutions such as Naropa University, as Assistant VP for Academic Affairs, and Tara Mandala, as Executive Director. As a leader and consultant he is dedicated to creating healthy, creative, and effective organizations built on cultures of openness and authenticity. Pieter received his Law degree in his native South Africa. 

Lopön Charlotte Rotterdam is a teacher and organizational leader with a strong commitment to helping others foster creative growth, self awareness and spacious presence in all aspects of their lives. She has been teaching and guiding meditation and Buddhist practices nationally and internationally for fifteen years. In 2017 Lama Tsultrim Allione made her Magyu Lopön, or Lead Teacher of the Mother Lineage, at Tara Mandala Retreat Center. She is also an Instructor at Naropa University, and co-developed and teaches Naropa’s WELCOME: Mindful Compassion Training. She received her Masters degree in comparative religion from Harvard Divinity School and has been a student of Tibetan Buddhism for over 20 years.

Charlotte is Director of Naropa University’s Center for the Advancement of Contemplative Education. She has brought compassionate and creative leadership to Tara Mandala Buddhist Retreat Center where she served as Executive Director and Board President; and to Naropa University’s School of Extended Studies, where she served as Program Director for nearly ten years, from its inception to its development into an award-winning international center of holistic learning.

The mother of two, she writes on the intersection of spiritual practice and daily life. Her work has appeared in Lion’s Roar Online, Mandala Magazine Online, and in Fearless Nest, an anthology.

Pieter and Charlotte live outside of Boulder Colorado with their sons, Mateo and Milan.
