SUMMARY:Skymind in Germany - Resting in the Ground of Being: Buddhist Wisdom on Death and Dying (Sold Out)
DESCRIPTION:Contemplating death can be a doorway into profound freedom\, inviting us to meet the certainty of our impermanence as a teacher and tremendous opportunity for awakening. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis seminar explores death and dying through the lens of Tibetan Buddhism\, drawing particularly on the teachings of the great 11th century yogini Machig Labdrön. We will look at the many ways we habitually respond to death—avoidance\, anxiety\, fear—and learn how to shift into a fresh\, honest\, and inspired relationship with our own mortality. You’ll be invited to gently reflect on your own death: How do you wish to meet that moment? What state of mind do you want to cultivate when everything familiar falls away? In Machig’s wisdom tradition\, the view is that we can actually recognize and rest into the infinitely compassionate ground of being from which came\, which we have never left\, and which we will dissolve back into. Our practice then is to relax and surrender\, to rest the mind in openness\, ease\, presence\, kindness\, and curiosity both in our everyday life and in preparation for our death. This supportive retreat will include teachings and discussion\, guided contemplations\, and an introduction to the Skymind open awareness meditation. No previous meditation experience is necessary. \n\n\n\nLecture: Friday from 6 pm to 8 pm.Cost: 20 euros.Seminar: Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm\, Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm.Cost for seminar: 100 eurosplus Dana.

SUMMARY:Skymind in Poland: THE COURAGE OF AN OPEN HEART – Buddhist Teachings in the Face of the Challenges of the Modern World
DESCRIPTION:In these uncertain times\, we often experience fear\, anxiety\, despair\, and a sense of helplessness. How can we find a deeper source of support? Where should we look for refuge? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe teachings of the Buddha arose as a direct response to the uncertainty and suffering we experience in human life. They remind us of our true nature\, which we can access and rest in as a source of peace\, connection\, and genuine liberation. Buddhist teachings invite us to recognize the ground of being—ultimate refuge—which permeates and embraces everything like the Great Mother in an all-encompassing embrace. \n\n\n\nDuring this course\, we will draw from the teachings of the great 11th-century Tibetan yogini Machig Labdrön\, who offers clear guidance on how to work with the mind and heart in order to recognize the primordial freedom that is our natural state. Through teachings\, contemplation\, and meditation\, we will practice accessing the spaciousness of the mind and the power of the heart. No previous experience is required. \n\n\n\nOpening Lecture & Book Signing\n\n\n\nThe course will begin with a lecture and a promotional meeting for the book Skymind on Monday 6 of July evening in Warsaw.
