February 17-18, 2018
Dating back over two thousand years, the Buddhist teachings of Prajna Paramita, or Transcendent Wisdom, point to the ineffable ground of being, the very nature of mind and of all reality. Beyond concepts, this wisdom is embodied as the Great Mother who gives birth to all things, the very source of awakened awareness. Ultimately, Prajna Paramita is not other than our own true nature, never separate or outside ourselves. During this retreat, we will learn a Prajna Paramita practice written by Lama Tsultrim Allione, based on traditional Prajna Paramita texts. The practice invites us to rest in the nature of mind, in spacious awareness that includes all. Our encounter with Prajna Paramita will include study of Aryadeva’s Grand Poem on the Perfection of Wisdom, a text which beautifully elucidates this profound view of absolute wisdom. Our intent is to develop a felt sense of the wisdom of the Great Mother so that it may infuse our daily lives. All are welcome; no previous experience is necessary.
